What can’t I put in a skip?
We can’t accept fridges, freezers, oils, tyres, televisions, asbestos, gas bottles, or paint.
Can I mix different waste types in a skip?
Yes you can, just avoid the restricted items listed above.
Do I need to be there for delivery of a skip?
If you want the skip putting in a certain place it is always better if someone is in, but other than that no you don’t need to be there.
When do I pay and how can I pay for skip hire?
On delivery please. Either cash to the driver or call our office to make a card payment.
Do I need a permit from the council for a skip?
If the skip is on your own drive or property you do not need a permit. However, if your skip is to be placed on public property (i.e. the road or grass verge), we will need to arrange a permit with your local council. For Staffordshire, we’ll need 5 working days' notice.
How long can I keep a skip for?
Skip hire is for up to 3 weeks. If you need a skip on a long term basis please contact us.
Do all skips have a drop door?
We provide drop doors on our 5 tonne and 10 tonne skips. Please ask if you need one as they don’t all have them.
Can I load a skip whilst the driver waits?
Yes, if all of your material is ready we can wait whilst you load the skip, and take it back with us.
How much rubbish does a skip hold?
- 2 Tonne Mini Skip: 25 to 35 bin bags
- 4 Tonne Midi Skip: 45 to 50 bin bags
- 5 Tonne Midi Skip: 55 to 65 bin bags
