We will arrange the skip hire permit with the council for you.
Stoke-on-Trent – We need 3 working days notice.
Staffordshire – We need 5 working days notice.
If the skip is on your own drive or property you do not need a permit.

What item’s can’t I put in a 2 tonne skip?

We can’t accept fridges, freezers, oils, tyres, televisions, asbestos, gas bottles, or paint.

Can I mix different waste types in a 2 tonne skip?

Yes you can, just avoid the items listed above.

Do I need to be there for delivery of a skip?

If you want the skip putting in a certain place it is always better if someone is in, but other than that no you don’t need to be there.

When do I pay and how can I pay for skip hire?
On delivery please. Either cash to the driver or call our office to make a card payment.
Do I need a permit from the council for a 2 tonne skip?

If the skip is on your own drive or property you do not need a permit. However, if your skip is to be placed on public property, i.e. the road, highway or grass verge. We will need to arrange a permit with your local council. For Stoke-on-Trent we’ll need 3 working days notice and for Staffordshire we’ll need 5 working days notice. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.

How long can I keep a 2 tonne skip for?

For up to 3 weeks. If you need the skip on a long term basis please contact us to discuss.

Do 2 tonne skips have a drop door?

Our 2 tonne skip do not have a drop door. We do drop doors on some of  the 5 tonne skips and the 10 tonne skips. But please ask if you need one as they don’t all have them.

Can I load the skip whilst the driver waits?

Yes, if all of your material is ready we can wait whilst you load the skip, and take it back with us.

How much does a 2 tonne skip hold?
The 2 tonne skip holds 25 to 35 bin bags of waste* almost 2 cubic metres of waste a total weight of 2 tonnes if the skip was to be filled with soil or heavy material. This is most suitable for small DIY projects or shed/garden clearances. Fits easily on a standard sized driveway.
Do I need to be there when the skip is collected?

On collection just leave the skip clear to get to please.
