What Size Skip Do I Need?
Choosing the right skip size depends on the amount of waste you have, the type of materials being removed and where the skip will be placed. For most household jobs, a small or midi skip is usually enough.
Small skips are ideal for lighter domestic waste, small garden clearances and decluttering. Our 2 tonne mini skips are a popular choice for smaller jobs.
Midi skips are better suited to bathroom refits, kitchen clearances, garden projects and general home renovation waste. We offer both 4 tonne midi skips and 5 tonne midi skips.
Large skips are designed for bigger clearances, bulky waste, building work and commercial use. Our 10 tonne large skips are suitable for larger residential and trade projects.
Extra large skips are available for high-volume waste, commercial sites and larger waste management requirements. For these jobs, view our roll-on roll-off skips.

What can’t I put in a skip?
We can’t accept fridges, freezers, oils, tyres, televisions, asbestos, gas bottles, or paint.
Can I mix different waste types in a skip?
Yes you can, just avoid the items listed above.
Do I need to be there for delivery of a skip?
If you want the skip putting in a certain place it is always better if someone is in, but other than that no you don’t need to be there.
When do I pay and how can I pay for skip hire?
On delivery please. Either cash to the driver or call our office to make a card payment.
Do I need a permit from the council for a skip?
If the skip is on your own drive or property you do not need a permit. However, if your skip is to be placed on public property, i.e. the road, highway or grass verge. We will need to arrange a permit with your local council. For Stoke-on-Trent we’ll need 3 working days notice and for Staffordshire we’ll need 5 working days notice. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to contact us.
How long can I keep a skip for?
Skip hire is for up to 3 weeks. If you need a skip on a long term basis please contact us.
Do all skips have a drop door?
We do drop doors on the 5 tonne skip and the 10 tonne skip. But please ask if you need one as they don’t all have them.
Can I load a skip whilst the driver waits?
Yes, if all of your material is ready we can wait whilst you load the skip, and take it back with us.
How much waste can a skip hold?
- 2 tonne skip holds 25 to 35 bin bags of waste*
- 4 tonne skip holds 45 to 50 bin bags*
- 5 tonne skip holds 55 to 65 bin bags*
- 10 tonne skip holds 80 to 100 bin bags*
Do I need to be there when the skip is collected?
On collection just leave the skip clear to get to please.
